Our 24th of July adventure

We had the funnest weekend.  We went on our first camping trip as a family of four.  we went up to Whitney Reservoir in the Uintah Mountains.  The weather was nice and it was just perfect.  We went with Frank, Daron, Angie and their boys.  The boys had so much fun.  I thought it would be hard with Coen since he isn't walking yet, but he did well.  Very dirty, but he had a blast.  There were old campfire spots all over our "lounging" area of the campsite, so whenever the kids would play in that spot they got black from the soot.  I had to bath Coen in the sink of the 5th wheel one night because he was so dirty.  Asa loved being able to ride the 4 wheelers and his motorcycle (without having to worry about hitting the house).  We went on a 3 hour ride on Saturday and got to over look Whitney Reservoir and the view was just amazing.  The whole ride was neat.  Although for the pansie in me, I spent about 30 minutes of it being white knuckle!  I wasn't cut out for "adventure" the way everyone else was :).  Frank has two 4-wheelers and him and I rode them.  Asa rode on Cody's bike with him.  we strapped the car seats on the back of the wheelers and off we went.  Asa thought it was so fun to be able to ride on dad's motocycle.  Cody was popping wheely's and doing small jumps with Asa on there with him.  Like father like son is all i've got to say.  It was a great weekend and I am so glad we had the opportunity to spend the time with the family.  Here are some snaps of our ride and just random shots.

Carnival fun

Wow, I know this is delayed.  Here are some pictures of the carnival.  Asa LOVED it!  He thought the rides were fun, but he loved the roller coaster the best!  He even got to play that balloon dart game.  He hit some balloons and got a prize.  Here are some pics of it.

Gateway Mall

I guess I should have posted the story of our day 2nd since you'll have to scroll down to see what the deal is with the lifeflight helicopter.  And no, no one was hurt.  While at the gateway seeing the helicopter there were other things that interested Asa, and this crazy ball thing was fun.  It had all sorts of fun was to suck and pump and drop and roll balls around in little tubes.  it was great.  He was kinda little for most of the activities there, but it was fun for him none the less.

The helicopter

We went up to the Gateway mall Yesterday and Asa saw this lifeflight helicopter.  They were closed so he couldn't get on it, but he talked about it all night long.  Even when he woke up today he talked about it all morning.  So we went back up there today so he could check it out.  It was lots of fun.  There are so many fun things for kids to do up there.

Motorcycle fun

We got Asa's motorcycle out for the first time in months and he had a blast.  It is the first time he was willing to ride it himself.  Most of the time he wants Cody on the back, but he was satisfied with Cody running along side.  As was I!  I do have to report the evening ended in him crashing on the motorcycle.  How is that possible with training wheels you ask.  Well there is a throttle something or other that lets us decide how fast he can go.  Well Cody couldn't get it to stay the same so he kept adjusting it.  And for some reason Asa cranked on the throttle super hard and got scared and wouldn't let up and was heading straight towards the house.  One of the training wheels caught one of the plastic planters out front and slowed him down as well as tossed him off.  Luckily he landed in our gravel bed in front of the house instead of actually crashing dead on into the house.  He's just fine and was just a little scared about the whole thing.  My plastic planter did not survive, however.  And no I didn't get the crash on camera

4th of July Fun

We had a nice 4th.  My entire family came over for a bbq and fireworks.  The kids all got along great and we all had a great time.  Dad even was the one to buy fireworks (which he normally won't do).  Cody hooked up the wagon to the power wheels 4 wheeler earlier in the day and was pulling it around.  So later on when the family got there, Jada and Kelsey got in the wagon and Asa dragged them around the driveway and they all had a blast!  We had like four million sparklers and the kids had a great time with them.  I slowed down my shutter speed to get the really cool sparkler picture.  Asa burned himself on the first sparkler he held.  Cody told him not to touch the fire end, so when the fire went out he touched that end and burned himself.  He didn't fuss much so I didn't think he really got hurt, then the next morning I saw that he had a blister on his thumb and finger.  They had a really fun time and it was great being able to spend this holiday with  my family.

I am so grateful for my freedom in every aspect of the word.  And I am grateful for the sacrifice our troops make defending our rights.  God Bless America!
